Michael Binnion

 

Director and Executive Chairman

Mr. Binnion has been actively involved in the financing and executive management of numerous private and public companies through his investment company, Ruperts Crossing Inc. Mr. Binnion is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Questerre Energy Corporation. He has also been a Director of Terrenex Acquisition Corporation and Sylogist Ltd., and presently holds board positions on four other private companies. Mr. Binnion was a founding shareholder and Chief Executive Officer of Flowing Energy Corporation from 1996 until 2001 and was founding shareholder, President, Chief Financial Officer, and a Director of CanArgo Energy Corporation in the Republic of Georgia from 1996 to 2000. Mr. Binnion is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce from the University of Alberta.

Simon Batcup

 

Director

Mr. Batcup has been actively involved in the executive management of numerous private and public companies, as both an owner and investor. Currently he is a consultant with Osborne Interim, an advisor with FREDsense Technologies and is Chairman of Brauerei Fahr, a brewery based in Turner Valley. Previously he was Managing Director of Optimal Pressure Drilling Services Inc., the joint venture between High Arctic and Schlumberger. Earlier, Mr. Batcup was VP and part-owner of Robyn’s Transport, a Calgary-based company in the refrigerated transport business. Previous business experience includes executive roles in information technology, courier and distribution, waste management, and transportation industries. Mr. Batcup has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Statistics and Operations Research from Concordia University in Montreal.

Joe Oliver

 

Director

Mr. Oliver was a federal Member of Parliament from May, 2011 to April, 2015 and served first as Minister of Natural Resources and then as Minister of Finance during his term in office. Previously, he was a senior investment banker with Merrill Lynch, Nesbitt Thomson and First Marathon and has served as Executive Director of the Ontario Securities Commission and as the President and CEO of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada. Recently, Mr. Oliver was appointed Distinguished Senior Fellow of the Montreal Economic Institute and Chairman of the Advisory Board at Origin Merchant Partners, an investment bank. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from McGill University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School in 1970.

Douglas Strong

 

Director

Mr. Strong is a Chartered Accountant with 36 years of experience having been with Precision Drilling 21 years in a number of senior financial and operational roles, including Chief Financial Officer from 2005 to 2010 and most recently as President of Completion & Production Services responsible for service rigs and snubbing in Canada and the United States. Prior to that his experience includes financial roles with Nabors Industries associated with international land contract drilling outside North America. Mr. Strong began his career with Collins Barrow in Calgary, Alberta in 1980 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.
